Director Of Business Development (Life Sciences)

This is a Contract position in Portland, OR posted August 17, 2021.

Our Life Sciences client is a growing dynamic company with excellent leadership throughout its businesses.

The Business Development Director will focus on ensuring the teams’ specific targeted accounts.

You’ll be developing customer insights with the depth and breadth needed to ensure the customers are having a great experience with intimate knowledge of their strategy, competitive environment and future opportunities for team to have future prospects for a healthier safer and more productive world.

Present and sell solutions to potential customers within the diagnostic and laboratory industries Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific customer targets for new business growth Identify, develop and follow-up on new leads, prospects and referrals resulting from field activity, inside sales efforts and tradeshows Prepare presentations and proposals when required, oversee the preparation of sales proposals and tools Lead, develop and evolve sales materials and current product knowledge.

Reporting includes preparing a variety of status reports, including itineraries, timely call reports and expense reports, review monthly sales pipeline reports to monitor customer opportunities and evaluate progress, and update CRM database.

Possesses and maintain thorough knowledge of industry product and sales information.

Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, and information or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate business partners.

Coach, coordinate and often ‘lead without authority’ your key business partners to accomplish the work required meet the needs of the customer and close the sale.

Achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and pipeline goals within the segment, including sales budget/forecast.

Participate in marketing events such as seminars, tradeshows, and telemarketing events Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services when needed Requirements: Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.

Ability to work with all levels of management.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.

Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.

Up to 50% of travel may be required.

Bachelor’s degree is a minimum.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to maintain a wide range of multi-site relationships utilizing influence, communication, facilitation, and presentation to effectively define and manage positive change.
