nn Director of BioChemistry nn nn n nn nn Job Description nn nnThis individual will play a key role in the development of next-generation rapid molecular diagnostic devices.
This scientist will develop diagnostic tests and reagents for the detection of human infectious disease including sample extraction, purification, amplification, and analysis.
The primary responsibility will be developing multiplexed qPCR assays for the amplification and detection of RNA and DNA from human pathogens.nn nn nn nn Responsibilities/Duties include (but are not limited to): nn Lead and manage a small biochemistry team in developing robust, fast, and sensitive multiplexed quantitative qPCR and RT-qPCR assays Select, qualify, and optimize reagents used throughout the workflow including lysis, purification and qPCR master-mix.
Develop diagnostic qPCR and RT-qPCR products under design controls Develop analytical methods to determine system performance Apply of Design of Experiment (DoE) techniques, statistical methods, and analysis in optimizing and debugging reaction conditions Establishing and maintain laboratory procedures, workflows, and methods to minimize contamination in a PCR laboratory environment.

nn nn nn nn nn Qualifications & Skills: nn M.Sc.
or Ph.D.
in molecular biology or related field or equivalent applicable experience At least 5 years of experience developing quantitative, multiplexed nucleic acid (PCR) assays Primary contributor in developing at least 5 commercial qPCR diagnostic assays Background in human infectious disease is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in managing a small team Ability to multitask with a high level of attention to detail and operate efficiently and independently with minimal supervision while working with a tea nn nn
