Position Title Director of Assessment and Accreditation
Announcement Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Assessment and accreditation.
The Director of Assessment and Accreditation oversees the assessment of student learning outcomes at both the institutional and programmatic levels across campus, integrates assessment activities and results with accreditation processes, disseminates assessment information among college constituents and stakeholders, and sponsors instructional support activities to improve student outcomes in credit and non-credit programs.
The Director will develop and manage a comprehensive evaluation system, both formative and summative, that evaluates students, faculty, courses and program success, including but not limited to design, implementation, analysis, and utilization of data collected from valid assessment instruments to inform decision-making and drive growth in student learning outcomes.
The Director will utilize qualitative and quantitative methods to propose and/or expand assessment strategies for programs and courses; and oversee reporting efforts (including data collection and data management) to meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements, quality assurance standards, and student learning outcomes at both the program and institutional levels.

Duties
Support systematic planning and change within the broad college community by administering a comprehensive, continual, and multi-dimensional student learning outcomes assessment program to enhance student success and drive continuous improvement.
Serve on the FTCC SACSCOC and Quality Enhancement Plan Committees.
Provide professional leadership for the College’s assessment processes by communicating the purposes of student learning outcomes assessment, assisting departments with the interpretation of assessment results, and developing and implementing action plans to improve student learning outcomes (institutional and programmatic).
Assist the associate vice presidents and academic deans (credit and non-credit) with departmental and program planning and assessment processes and coordinates the reporting and utilization of assessment activities and data.
Represent the college regarding its assessment and evaluation processes to external stakeholders.
In coordination with faculty and the General Education Assessment Committee ( GEAC ), develop and support the assessment and planning processes used by FTCC to measure student performance in meeting its institutional student learning outcomes or competencies.
Collaborate with the Quality Matters Coordinator to implement quality assurance standards and advance the Quality Matters course review process.
Coordinate the work of the college’s GEAC Assessment Committee.
Responsible for monitoring Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges ( SACSCOC ) compliance guidelines and educating college faculty and staff regarding compliance issues and substantive changes reportable to SACSCOC .
Accountable for submitting and tracking substantive change requirements of SACSCOC .
Supervise and manage the preparation and distribution of reports to meet state and national compliance requirements, SACS’s accreditation standards, and the college’s mission.
Provide expert support to faculty, administration, and staff related to SACSCOC reaffirmation process and compliance requirements.
Assist and provide back-up support to the institution’s SACSCOC accreditation liaison.
Work collaboratively with the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness to communicate the purpose and intent of institutional assessment plans and ensure that accreditation requirements, including compliance with accrediting standards, are incorporated into the planning and assessment processes of the college and academic departments.
Facilitate a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional relationships with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by the College.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in educational research, educational psychology, outcomes assessments , or related field.
A minimum of one year of experience in the candidate’s respective field is necessary; experience with quantitative and qualitative methods, evaluation design, and experience in assessment instrument design and validation is required, experience in teaching or training of faculty, staff and/or administrators to improve teaching, learning, and clinical and/or program outcomes.
Minimum of five years of teaching in a higher education setting required.
Preferred Requirements
PhD in education or equivalent field preferred.
