The Manufacturing/Process Engineering Director will be an accomplished manufacturing/engineering leader with broad engineering experience, as well as experience with operational excellence and new facility startups. The primary functions of this roll are to plan, organize, and implement the manufacturing processes and capabilities of the plants, and lead the development of long-term strategic manufacturing/engineering plans.
In addition, she/he will support the development and manufacture of new products in time to meet demand at the lowest total cost while maintaining compliance with prescribed quality and regulatory standards and minimizing inventory levels.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Acting as the primary technical lead for process and equipment improvement projects, including overseeing equipment modifications, upgrades, and new installations.
• Designing and developing of new processes, modifications of existing processes, cost and quality improvement initiatives.
• Working independently or with others to develop improved methods for delivering finished product to our customers.
• Driving cost improvement projects to remove costs from current and new operations.
• Assisting in identifying new or improved products or methodology for delivering value-added products to our customers.
• Maintaining expertise/knowledge on new equipment, products, and process developments solutions in the bakery and high speed CPG packaging fields.
• Serving as an expert for troubleshooting manufacturing problems and developing and supporting solutions with data-based decision making.
• Identifying and implementing new/improved methods within manufacturing to improve profitability.
• Define and implement manufacturing strategies, including the engineering and production of goods at both internal and external production facilities

Essential Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences degree with 10+ years of CPG/Food industry experience, or Master’s degree in field with 7+ years of manufacturing experience in a high speed packaging environment, Bakery experience a plus.
• Proven ability to be a strong leader with manufacturing operational experience and success in a high-speed CPG manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated experience with multiple product manufacturing environments is required.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Visual Management in manufacturing environment and success optimizing manufacturing through Lean methodologies.
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and statistical process control fundamentals.
• Proven ability in leading manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing and logistics through significant improvement cycles.
• Clear strategic thinker with proven critical relationship development skills.
• Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, formal presentation) at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to prepare data and presentations for associates and management.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required, manufacturing ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.) recommended.
