Position Overview
The Director, Incentive Compensation is a hands-on position that oversees the administration of all aspects of Aveanna’s incentive programs.
This role is responsible for the development of incentive plans to support Aveanna’s compensation philosophy and for ensuring incentive payouts are calculated in accordance with each specific plan’s guidelines, as well as ensuring compliance with internal controls and applicable laws and regulations.
The position also coordinates public company reporting related to incentive compensation, including disclosures in the Company’s annual report.
Acting as primary point of contact, the Director, Incentive Compensation will provide support and communication to employees and management as it relates to incentive-based compensation (as appropriate).
Requirements:
Essential Job Functions
- Facilitates the development of the Company’s incentive program strategy.
- Oversees the calculation of payouts under Aveanna’s Corporate, Operational, and Executive Incentive plans.
- Provides leadership, direction and supervision to a team of compensation analysts.
- Manages the company’s relationship with compensation consultants.
- Coordinates with operational leadership on the approval of incentive payouts.
- Ensures effective communication strategy and develops and delivers employee communications regarding incentive plans and programs as needed.
- Provides accounting and finance department leaders with accurate and up to date accruals of future incentive payouts for purposes of journal entry creation and forecasting.
- Ensures eligible employees complete appropriate documentation for compliance and administrative purposes.
- Collaborates with senior Aveanna leadership to review, benchmark and update Aveanna’s incentive programs on at least an annual basis.
- Assists with special compensation projects and initiatives, including project management, the development of proposals for leadership consideration and review, and the creation and execution of implementation plans.
- Working closely with department peers, responsible for identifying opportunities to improve compensation processes to support the development of a consistent approach to compensation administration, improving Department efficiency and the Department’s impact to the larger organization.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum 10+ years of compensation planning and designing experience, including experience designing and implementing incentive plans
- 3+ years of project management experience
- 5 years’ management experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Strong knowledge of compensation plans compliance and reporting requirements and plan administration, particularly in a public company environment
- Must be proficient in multiple software programs, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel.
- Advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, MACROs, etc)
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Cross functional collaboration skills, strong planning and project management skills, and be able to work well with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels
- Ability to work in a complex and demanding environment
Preferences
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred
Compensation planning and design experience preferably in the healthcare industry
- Ability to work independently, while managing workflow and establishing and executing project plans
- Analytical skills with the ability to identify current and future company requirements
- Basic understanding of financial data
- Experience with Workday or other HRIS/HCM systems preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining work product excellence and high level of customer service.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to juggle ongoing projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Proven high-level compensation expertise and ability to apply sound compensation design techniques and principles
- Understanding of current key competitive practices and desire and ability to keep up-to-date on the latest trends and ideas in the field
