Who You AreYou are passionate about supply chain’s role ensuring the seamless supply of life sustaining biologic therapies to people all over the world.You are a dynamic Supply Chain Leader  interested in challenging the status quo to ensure seamless supply of  life sustaining biologic therapies.You are a valued influencer and leader who has contributed to the digital evolution of a supply chain organization.You have a keen eye for improvement opportunities and the demonstrated ability to deliver on these opportunities using LEAN principles.Who We AreWe have a mission to ensure our patients have their life sustaining products when they want it and how they want it – without worry.  We do this by managing the end to end global product supply of specialty care medicines all over the world whether it is for commercial, clinical or for humanitarian relief.  The scope of activities includes strategic planning, supply planning, inventory management and leading strategic initiatives, new product launches or market expansions.  Global Supply Chain is the primary interface between Industrial Affairs and the Global Business Unit and we partner with multiple functions and manufacturing sites across the network to ensure end to end (E2E) supply chain activities.Where We AreThe workplace is in Waltham, Massachusetts with other colleagues supporting the Rare Blood Disorders franchise.Job HighlightsLead and manage the end to end supply of specialty products (covering all defined products) ensuring excellent customer service, manufacturing operations scheduling and adherence to key supply chain principles (schedule adherence, inventory coverage, service agreements, cycle times).Inventory Management StrategyEstablish Inventory policies and risk management plans for assigned portfolio; monitor and drive performance.Develop inventory strategies for complex supply chain networks and implement recommendations to the site and/or Global Business Unit.Drive manufacturing sites regarding necessary adjustments to productions plans to accommodate any forecast changes and assure inventory alignment to strategies.  Develop measurement systems to measure performance against the same.Assures inventory policies are in alignment with financial goals.Risk Mitigation / Contingency PlanningCoordinates and assures that there are relevant risks/contingency plans related to product supply chain for Supply Chain NetworkEnd to End PlanningLeads the supply planning and analysis for drug substance, drug product and finished goods for commercial, clinical/non-clinical, humanitarian and samples for the assigned product portfolio.  Develops supply plans for long range planning, budgeting and forecasting business activities.Ensures plan is compliant and aligned with regulatory allocations.Contract Manufacturing Operations (CMO)/Supplier Management/ Acquisition/Integration ManagementResponsible for directing and coordinating integration and/or supply chain processes with CMO and alliance partners of existing or newly acquired businesses.Develop key supply chain processes, establishment of communication plans, leading efforts relative to the integration of shared systems, monitoring of system-related metrics and administration of relevant data elements for a product or products.New Product Introduction (NPI) / Life cycle management (LCM)New product introduction related to product portfolio:  understand pre-launch demand plan; participate in development and launch project team  meetings, develops and aligns the drug substance and drug product inventory and scheduling strategy, develops the finished goods implementation plan with the Global Business Unit and Markets.  Ensures a plan for materials, artwork, packing and labelling).Business Unit Focal PointLeads discussions with Global Business Unit for supply chain accountability-related discussions for product portfolio.Integrated Business Process (IBP; also referred to as Sales & Operations Planning – S&OP) and Planning Systems ManagementArticulation of supply requirements and network performance at supply reviews.  Monitors demand forecast performance, develops and deploys a supply plan across the manufacturing network.  Ensures impacts of plan changes are endorsed and aligned across the network (manufacturing, financial, inventory impacts).Manages 36 month planning horizon for product portfolio via a standardized integrated business planning process ensuring effectiveness in communications, presentation and the right executive business decisions.Responsible for ensuring regulatory and country specific requirements are integrated into planning timelines and inventory risk mitigation strategies.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degreeMinimum 6 years supply chain product planning experience or 10 years in a combination or supply chain, manufacturing or materials management at the site, regional or global level.Strong understanding of planning principles, possessing a knowledge of global product planning at a detailed level, master production scheduling and integrated business planning processes (or sales and operations planning process).Highly proficient in the use of Excel, ThinkCell and Power Point.Experience using ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems such as SAP, Kinaxis with an understanding of information, product and financial flows and linkages.  Inventory management systems.Fluent in English.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s  or Master’s degree in science or technical fieldExperience in manufacturing site operation activities.Experience in pharmaceuticals or a related industryApics certificationTerms of EmploymentApproximately 20% travel for site visits, meetings and occasional international or domestic travel.Sanofi Inc.
