Director, Facilities Management

Position Summary:

The newly created role of Director of Facilities Management will be the primary point of contact and lead the coordination, programming and build out of a new SomaLogic campus in support of future operational growth.

This position will also be responsible for the successful support of ongoing general office, R&D lab and production lab operations infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand current and future business/facility needs as they relate to ongoing and new operations
  • Coordinate and facilitate defining technical and space requirements in support of the new facility programming, engineering, construction contractors and owner’s representatives
  • Primary contact and coordinator for maintaining EH&S, hazardous materials and waste disposal/storage programs compliance
  • Establishes relationships with and coaches employees on performance and development; provides performance evaluations and establishes annual goals for employees; recommends appropriate sustainable practices and technology solutions to further effective and efficient operations.
  • Develop and direct, with the Facilities Management Team strategies and standards to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of facilities management workflow (i.e.

    repair, preventative, predictive and emergency work).

    Incorporating processes to support continual improvement of the strategies and standards

  • Ensures proper operations of buildings through managing, maintaining, and regulating systems such as HVAC, electronic, plumbing, DI water, physical plant operations, security alarms, access control, elevator, fire control systems and building management systems
  • Work with consultant services, contractors, and public entities such as utilities and fire to identify, plan and monitor all aspects of project work

Skills and Experience:

  • Able to operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Development, management and oversight of capital, maintenance contracts and operating budgets
  • Strong organizational management skills
  • Ability to matrix manage technical and administrative staff
  • Team building and process development

Qualifications :

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in a regulated production environment (medical device, biotechnology or diagnostics) and 10 years in a leadership role with increasing/diverse responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands / Surroundings – Works in an office setting.

    May need to lift object up to 30 pounds on a limited basis.

    The individual may be required to enter production support areas/laboratories while wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) such as lab coat and safety glasses.
