Description
Alaska Regional has an opportunity for a Director Diagnostic Imaging and Cancer Center!
The Director of Diagnostic Imaging is resp onsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Imaging Services and Cancer Center departments.
Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to geriatric.
Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
Assures competency of all colleagues.
Assists in formulating the budget.
Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all Joint Commission, ACR, NCR, COC, FDA, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Key Interactions –
Promotes a positive teamwork environment which emphasizes respect to all customers, including patients, families, physicians, staff, and other departments.
Supervises the daily operation of the department in addition to being involved in employee counseling, feedback, performance evaluations, and maintaining overall improvement in the department.
Ages of patients served: Infant (>1) – Geriatric (65+).
Maintain Commission on Cancer (COC) accreditation for the Cancer Center Maintain American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation for Radiology modalities, NRC accreditation for Nuclear Medicine program, and FDA & MQSA accreditation for Mammography program Ensure proper workflows and radiation safety standards Maintain Radiation Safety Committee Manage day to day operations, contracts, personnel issues, and payroll Manage service contracts on equipment Project management and effectively partnering with vendors Maintain quality control, performance measurements, chart audits, and utilization review Implement hospital safety, infection control, and quality improvement plans Participate in weekly Tumor Boards in multidisciplinary settings

Qualifications
Licensure/Certifications: Registered Radiographer (ARRT) required American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required Education: MBA, MHA, or BS degree preferred Experience: Three (3) years of related work experience required
