As the Director of Commercial Application for Pearson Virtual School division, you will be responsible for leading the Product and Project management aspect of the Commercial application (Fulfillment Applications, HR, Marketing…) for the entire business unit.

You will manage a team of highly skilled product owners and product managers that will focus on understanding the business needs and partnering with the engineering team to deliver against the business needs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for planning, execution, and delivery, from inception to completion, for an existing technology product or program

Work extensively with cross-functional partners
– Sales, Finance, technology, Operations, and Product teams
– to implement optimal solutions to thematic issues

Proactively manages the end-to-end delivery of engineering work though the engineering team and all dependent organizations

Reports on progress, ensuring dependencies are covered

Operates between teams and architectures overseeing the gaps between teams, processes, and systems, while removing all blocking issues leading to a successful delivery

Manage the lifecycle for a complex cross functional body of work that has a long term positive impact on the company

Influence Global technology teams roadmaps by contributing to their planning documents and goal setting exercises

Work across scrum teams and across organizations to deliver on a single product, a key technology area or more broadly, managing larger initiatives that span organizations and geographies in support of a larger cross-cutting business goal

Make smart trade-off decisions balancing efforts, delivery timelines, features, and technical constraints

Identify and remove blockers and always find the path forward in challenging situations

Excellent communicator and are comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization both in writing and in person

Articulate progress against goals, scorecard metrics, and committed roadmaps

Work across organizations for ways to align teams, technologies and organizations to simple coherent approaches that optimize organizational structures and operating mechanisms

Qualifications
– External

Qualifications –

BS/MS degree in CS/CE/EE/ with 15+ years of experience managing engineering operations and/or directing engineering organizations.

Experience in managing product portfolios across different geographical regions.

Experience working in an Agile Development environment

Track record of implementing and managing successful engineering projects and processes.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with other teams, drive consensus thru impact and influence, and deliver results quickly.

Good understanding of Quality Assurance, Automation, and Dev processes including Release processes.

Effective executive-level presence and ability to communicate at C-level.

Effective communication (Written and Oral), coordination and collaboration skills

Planning, Scheduling, Tracking and status reporting of deliverables and milestones.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $150k
– $170k.

This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
