Director, Campaign Content Strategy

The Director, Campaign Content Strategy is responsible for developing content strategy and overseeing content execution for WRK’s content marketing team.
You are responsible for managing and advancing our content marketing programs and projects.
In addition to your extensive experience in content marketing, you should also be a creative and strategic thinker and have a keen eye for process.
The services you will be overseeing range from written editorial work, creative visual assets across both traditional and digital media, creative briefs to strategy deliverables – and beyond!
You will serve as the primary success owner for internal customers and will collaborate closely with the content project manager and campaign planners to manage and ultimately advance customer content through great deliverables and advisory.
This individual will report to the Vice President, Customer Experience.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a team of high performing designers, writers, and project managers
- Own the successful delivery of customer-centric content across the marketing organization and enterprise
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Industry Marketing and Growth Marketing to intake campaign briefs and develop creative briefs that inspire the content team to design fresh and unique campaign assets
- Define strategic customer messaging that is consistent throughout One WestRock and aligns each brief to company values
- Establish quality standards for customer content and ensure compliance to brand standards
- Understand the industry, products, innovations and WRK brand to define a customer messaging hierarchy that will be used to describe WRK’s value proposition
- Partner closely with the Customer Engagement team to support the analysis of customer personas, journey mapping and competitor insights
- Collaborate with the Marketing Intelligence team on primary customer research and use it to make data-driven and insights-driven decisions for all campaign briefs and content
- Identify marketing problems and analyze trends/results to determine strategic implications
- Bring awareness of the customer content we have across the marketing org and WRK enterprise
- Create a scalable approach and process to customer content that leads to content that performs well with customers and takes advantage of existing knowledge, assets, resources and efficiencies within WRK environment today
- Determine strategy for awards submissions and define each award strategy and structure and work with Content Project Manager to apply
- Define how we can future-proof our customer content to take advantage of the next big thing
- Analyze campaign data from the Marketing Intelligence team to understand performance and areas for continuous improvement
- Implement continuous improvement process for customer campaign content
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in and leading a content marketing team, ideally B2B-focused
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communication, or Marketing
- Comprehensive knowledge and passion for all things design, editorial, experience ideating and content processes
- Experience producing traditional and digital content formats across channels including podcasts, virtual events, webinars, and more
- Demonstrated success with defining, implementing, and optimizing both a content strategy and messaging hierarchy
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple team members, projects, multitask, and work within tight deadlines
- Comprehensive understanding of all the principles of content marketing
- Work well on a team but also be able to take initiative on independent projects
- Experience with deep cross-functional collaboration across a wide array of functions with a natural ability to collaborate well with others and thrive when part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability in fast-paced, multi-tasked, high-profile environment and builds relationships with cross functional teams
- Self-motivated, driven, and passionate about winning
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with and present to business leaders and sales communities with credibility
- Experience with strategic thinking, strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making
