Multiple direct reports. Will provide leadership in the areas of safety, quality, production, financial controls, plant security, OSHA compliance, quality, facilities, and manufacturing.As the Manager Operations – Aluminum you will work with many functional areas across the company to ensure consistency in operations and related strategies. This role will ensure large-scale projects are completed on time, on budget, and meet specified quality standards, production requirements, and preset goals.Technical and extensive machining (aluminum-based) experience required. Experience with budgeting, capital projects, and capital equipment/machinery needed.This position is at a high visibility location that encourages and enables new ideas, processes, and technologies that support well-branded and respected consumer products.Location:Auburn, AL. Complete Relocation is Provided for Qualified candidatesJob Details:Oversee specific plant operations and related support areasCoordinate technical service activities across a broad range of internal and external assignmentsAccountable for safety, quality, delivery, and manufacturing costs; manage the effective use of production hours, skills, equipment, and facilitiesParticipate in planning production schedules, requirements, and manufacturing controls as related to manufacturing operationsDevelop and implement strategies for operational improvement; ensure efficiency standards for all operations are metDevelop capital and other annual budgeting including evaluating the Economic Value Added (EVA) and Return on Investment (ROI) impact for location; maintain and manage established budgets throughout the fiscal year to achieve financial goalsEvaluate new technology and recommend strategies for acquisition and implementationDrive cost reduction and continuous improvement concepts and projects to achieve annual goals; monitor and improve employee productivity and effectiveness related to operations and maintain a commitment to employee involvementPerform the full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to interviewing, hiring, coaching, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budgetQualifications:Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experienceMinimum of seven years experience in a technical service or related fieldComprehensive knowledge of technical service practices, processes, procedures, and production support activities including efficiency levels and productivity standardsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with diverse groups of peopleDemonstrated success in implementing large-scale improvements and changes in complex and diverse environmentsFamiliarity with Purchasing and Industrial Engineering functions as well as plant layout efficienciesStrong leadership and motivational skills and the ability to develop leadership qualities in others
