JOBANNUAL SALARY: $146,172APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE ONLYThe County of Fresno is offering a rewarding and challenging career opportunity for an experienced, innovative, and motivated professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Internal Services.The Assistant Director of Internal Services, reporting to the Director of Internal Services/Chief Information Officer, works collaboratively as a key member of the administrative team to determine policy, develop programs, and formulate operational objectives in accordance with federal, state and local ordinances, policies, and procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities include planning, directing, and administering the work of departmental divisions, programs, activities, and staff through the development and monitoring of policies, procedures, systems, and subordinate staff consistent with regulatory standards and departmental goals and objectives.

In addition, the Assistant Director of Internal Services acts on behalf of the Director of Internal Services/Chief Information Officer in their absence overseeing critical and sensitive departmental functions of the Internal Services Department.PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE ELECTRONIC BROCHURE Positions in this classification are in Medical Group I Light Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8).

This group includes positions which require only light physical effort and may include lifting of small, light objects and some bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching.

Experience: Four (4) years of full-time, paid management experience which included responsibility for developing, implementing, evaluating budgets, organizational structures, and administrative policies.

Substitution: Possession of a master’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

OPTION 2: Experience: Four (4) years of full time, paid work experience equivalent to a Division manager or above with the County of Fresno Department of Internal Services directly managing Facilities, Purchasing, Internal Services, Fleet, Security and/or Information Technology Services, which included the supervision of skilled and/or professional staff.

Substitution: Possession of a master’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

In addition to the options listed above, the following may be required: License: Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent.

Other: As a condition of employment, selected candidates will be required to undergo and pass a background investigation.
