The Opportunity

As we continue to grow and scale our ability to provide innovative primary care across the country, the teams that support this critical work are growing as well.

One Medical is seeking to hire a Billing and Coding Manager to provide leadership to the growing billing, coding and auditing program.

As a key member of the Revenue Cycle leadership team, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle, and will focus on ensuring that One Medical members receive a stellar billing experience.

The Billing and Coding Manager will direct and manage this experience by developing and executing initiatives, acting as the Subject Matter Expert at One Medical in all matters medical coding and provide leadership for the day to day operations of your team while ensuring that core processes increase efficiency, maintain internal service level agreements and meet the goals of One Medical.

Critical to success is the ability to guide the organization through all areas of coding, compliance and auditing, guide teams in their work, while actively removing barriers to success, through a lens of continuous improvement.

What you’ll likely work on:

  • Driving and managing strategic initiatives to support coding and billing accuracy
  • Overseeing and ensuring that One Medical’s billing compliance program is executed
  • Act as the coding SME for new services and updates to CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS.
  • Developing process improvements based on LEAN philosophy by reviewing current processes and making changes when appropriate, as well as developing and reporting on established key performance indicators
  • Drive team engagement to include setting and achieving progressive goals and support the growth of the team at scale
  • In collaboration with Revenue Cycle and cross functional teams, proactively solve challenges that impact billing and coding
  • Managing and supporting the Charge Capture function ensuring that billing and coding is accurate and complete
  • Support the CPC training program at One Medical
  • Collaborate with external partners to develop strategies to ensure proper billing, coding and compliance.
  • Creating an engaged, productive, positive, and cohesive team culture

What you’ll need:

  • 7+ years experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle, including 3 years of experience managing a team of managers/individual contributors
  • Certified Professional Coder
  • Experience managing complex revenue cycle functions within an organization with multiple revenue streams, and a annual net revenue in excess of $150M
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing data sets to draw insights and expertise in leveraging data and continuous feedback loops to inform decisions
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into revenue cycle department requirements
  • Proficiency in Excel, and experience with G-Suite, Tableau and SQL a plus
