– Possible Hire Our client, who is one of the world’s largest testing and assessment organizations, is seeking a Contracts Manager to draft and manage all phases of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), RFQs, and RFIs, and negotiate and administer contracts of varying degrees of complexity for the acquisition of goods and services of various types.
Excellent contract writing and negotiating skills are necessary and ability to manage supplier relationships and contract performance through to contract close-out is required.
Responsibilities: Analyzes procurement requests based upon appropriateness, conformance with corporate policies and goals, quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.
Determines priorities for procurement request handling and management.
Selects and approves potential suppliers in conjunction with internal customers.
Ensures optimum use of client’s funds through development and use of RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
Receives and analyzes replies to bid requests; negotiates and writes contracts and awards business.
Reviews and analyzes supplier-prepared documents, if presented, i.
e.
contracts, leases, licenses, specifications, statements of work, Short Form Agreements and other such documents; proposes and negotiates changes; drafts amendments, modifications, and addenda; and alerts responsible parties to potential problems, liabilities, or unusual terms.
Reviews all transactions in their earliest stages to ensure compliance with client’ requirements.
Continually seeks to expand qualified MWDVBE supplier participation in accordance with corporate objectives and policy.
Maintains continual focus on achieving cost reductions/savings/avoidances consistent with annual corporate and department objectives .
Maintains current knowledge of market conditions in order to advise management and influence procurement decisions.
Education A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or commensurate appropriate business experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
MBA is preferred Requirements (Specialized skill sets, behavioral/technical) Candidates should meet the following requirements for consideration: A minimum of 5 or more years of contract writing, negotiating, sourcing, procurement and managing experience within a procurement or supplier contract management organization Demonstrate superior oral and written communication skills, contract law knowledge, contract content and structure knowledge, negotiation skills, and work organization skills Contract risk mitigation (legal, financial, business, and security) and excellent contract writing, and negotiation skills are required.
Supplier Diversity experience is highly desired Proficient use of most MS Office applications and document creation and management system (Ariba and DocuSign) Knowledge of PeopleSoft or comparable software.
Advanced business communication skills in both written and verbal form with an ability to write about technical subjects clearly and concisely People skills: a team player, comfortable contributing and listening.
