Communications & Media Manager

This is a Full-time position in Redmond, WA posted December 19, 2021.

JOB SUMMARY

The Communications Manager is both an internal and client facing role that supports programs and projects cascading globally, regionally, and locally. The individual will work with account leadership to develop communications strategy and materials and provide consultation to internal teams and clients.

The Communications Manager will lead communications team members to deliver various global written reports and announcements, crafting templates and collateral, and creating content for touchpoints with the global team, such as All Hands sessions and newsletters. This role collaborates with a variety of teams within the organization, including those at the leadership level and will support executive communications. The team will be responsible for delivering client-facing materials on a regular basis, and will also provide communications support directly for the client, as needed. Additionally, they will lead a storytelling program, focused on telling high-impact stories via video, podcast, and print/online channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Advise on and create presentation content, messaging, and written communications in support of leadership initiatives

Educate team on branding standards and ensure compliance through coaching, and creating/maintaining templates

Support clients on communications projects, as needed.

Lead employee engagement workstreams such as best practice calls, All Hands meetings, leadership meetings, and engagement/event planning.

Oversee a Storytelling Program, writing and telling stories in both written and multimedia formats.

Provide project-specific communications guidance and support to various teams as needed

Engage with and train internal teams on communications best practices

Create and distribute routine and ad hoc organizational announcements to global team

Lead direct reports and collaborate with internal communications stakeholders

May provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company’s values.QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Qualifications

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to communicate with and influence senior management

Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles using distinctive style.

Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to internal and external audiences.

Strong initiative and problem-solving skills

Excellent organizational/time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong understanding and use of social media platforms including LinkedIn and Twitter.

Experience in media relations and supporting press requests

Must be able to handle confidential information

Strong follow-up skills

Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator

Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Excel

Proficiency in storytelling via video, podcast, and other multimedia channels

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline from a 4-year college/university

Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant work experience and/or training. Real Estate experience/training is not required

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills Advanced knowledge of Word. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of additional Microsoft Office applications.
