Job Description Summary

The Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for driving the success of the commercial overhaul operations at the Strother site, including CF34-8, CFM and CF34-10 engine models serving both domestic and foreign customers.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Commercial team in achieving defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
  • Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.
  • Use high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others’ options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years relevant operations experience
  • Prior experience as a people leader; demonstrated ability to lead large teams in a manufacturing environment

Desired Characteristics:

  • Aviation industry experience strongly preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and expertise
  • Prior experience working in a Union environment
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skill
