With over 1,300 stores throughout the United States, Cato brands offer exclusive merchandise with fashion and quality comparable to mall specialty stores at low prices everyday.Information on Cato is available at www.Catocorp.Com.The Company’s stock is traded on the NYSE under the symbol “CATO”.Cato is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President, Store Operations to join its executive team.This position reports directly to the CEO and is responsible forOverall store operations activities and profits for Cato, It’s Fashion and Versona concepts; Establishing and maintaining highly professional standards in areas of store operations, store personnel training and development, merchandising, and expense control; Ensuring a highlevel of commitment to achieve company and sales goals through Territorial, Regional, District and Store goals; Maintaining a full management staff including Territorial and Regional Vice Presidents; Implementing manpower planning based on regional and company requirements to include anticipated growth, while basing judgment on both quantitative and qualitative factors; Maintaining an understanding of store operations in all parts of the country at a market level and working through appropriate channels to ensure the merchandise mix and level at each location is competitively positioned; Accurately interpreting and communicating corporate marketing, merchandising, human resources, and operational strategies to the field.Qualified candidates must have:15 to 20 years of hands-on fashion retail store experience with steadily increasing responsibilities, with at least 10 years in a senior store leadership role for a national fashion retailer; Strongly prefersomeone who has risen through the ranks:Store Manager, then District Manager, then Regional Vice President, etc.Strong organizational and people skills; In-depth knowledge of store operations for fashion retailing; Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate operational initiatives to the field; Must be both a strategic and tactical thinker with the ability to quickly assess problems and develop practical solutions while always being mindful of the bottom-line impact of those solutions; Strong financial analysis skills; Strong coachingskills; Ability to workcollaboratively with all other areas of the company, especially Merchandising, Visual Merchandising and Planning, Allocation & Control;Ability to continually be developing his or her direct reports; Ability to withstand the pressures of bottom line accountability in a volatile business; Ability to travel to meet position requirements; Must be willingto relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina.Experience in specialty multi-brand, multi-unit retail is required.A college degree is preferred.The Cato Corporation offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits including Medical/Dental/Life Insurance package, 401(K) Retirement Plan, Flexible Spending Plan, Stock Purchase Plan and more!Please send resume, including salary history to:The Cato Corporation, Attn:Recruitment, PO Box 34216, Charlotte, NC28234.Fax to (704) 551-7246 or email to catojobs@catocorp.com.eoe/Drug Testing
