Business Resiliency – Program Manager III

This is a Full-time position in Albany, NY posted January 10, 2022.

The Resiliency Program Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) for the clients Strategic Outsourcing Customers. The disaster recovery plans must be viable and exercised demonstrating to management the organization’s ability to continue data processing operations following a disruption of services. This position is also responsible to lead the recovery effort in the event of an outage emergency.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

  • Strong Written & Verbal Communications Skills – 3 yrs
  • Knowledge and regular use of MS Office – Word/Excel/PowerPoint – 3yrs
  • Ability to manage initiatives and adhere to timelines
  • Adherence to tight deadlines – internal and external customer related – 2 yrs
  • English: Fluent
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent customer facing skills and organizational abilities.

Position Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with Mainframe & distributed data or applications recovery in a DR test environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Disaster Recovery
  • Project Management methodology experience
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery Plan development
  • Exposure/Knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, or architecture
  • DRI certification preferred

Personal Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter, motivated to enhance and expand Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and be able to guide and influence fellow team members through initiative and active participation
  • Excellent Customer interface skills
  • Ability to recognize and articulate client issues/problems related to the Disaster Recovery process
  • Strong problem solving/decision making skills

Expectations on work hours:

  • There is an expectation that the candidate will have to provide support to DR exercises outside the normal work hours at a client location a few times a year. Exercises are conducted over several days and round the clock support is required by the team by covering 12 hour shifts. These 12 hour shifts may be during the day or night depending on scheduling for the exercise.
