Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our team members, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.
The DMI Data Portfolio Team is responsible for horizontal governance of over $400 million of annual project investments in data to support all Wells Fargo lines of business. The Data Portfolio Team facilitates business case review for data investment opportunities to ensure solutions are in alignment with the Enterprise Data Strategy and data investment priorities and to identify synergies across data capabilities and technologies. We work closely with Group Portfolio Delivery teams, the Data Management & Insights organization, and the Enterprise Investment Optimization team in analyzing investments and providing ongoing oversight of pending pipeline and funded investments.
Data Initiatives Consultant Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for developing and sustaining relationships with assigned internal stakeholders to: 1) guide proposed data investment opportunities through the investment governance processes for strategic alignment, prioritization of competing requests, and funding decision and 2) oversee ongoing governance of a data projects.
- Will lead others to establish, implement, and maintain the strategic data investment governance process and prioritization framework and improve the Data Portfolio operating model including processes, reporting and tool support.
- Will effectively multi-task, work independently under tight deadlines, drive to expeditious decisions, and communicate tough messages diplomatically.
- Will ensure timely and accurate reporting for aligned pipeline and portfolio.
- Ensures adherence to appropriate policies.
Additional Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support of the ongoing Data Portfolio governance processes including meeting preparation/facilitation, project prioritization, and regular review of aligned portfolio with key stakeholders.
- Review monthly financials of portfolio of project investments, understands variances and causes, and performs analysis to understand performance against funding and benefits delivered.
- Work with data subject matter experts to identify synergies and opportunities to leverage data technology solutions.
- Lead aligned partners to understand business cases and priority of key initiatives.
- Provide project structure and timing recommendations recognizing competing project funding priorities and/or strategies.
- Help lead the development of Data Portfolio processes to identify, track, and prioritize projects.
- Help lead the development of the strategic framework for the Data Portfolio, including alignment with corporate priorities.
- Comfortable speaking with and presenting to senior leaders.
- Able to develop relationships and practice collaboration with partners throughout the enterprise.
- Work with a team and individually, with the ability to be a self-starter who can figure out the most effective way forward.

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
- A BS/BA degree or higher
