Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a System Engineering and Specialty Engineering Manager to join the Bombers and Fighters division in Berkeley, MO.
The Bombers and Fighters engineering group is a highly skilled, flexible workforce that provides affordable, Best of Boeing engineering support and processes, tools and training for the advancement of the Boeing Enterprise.
As a System and Specialty Engineering Manager, you will lead a hard-working team of system engineers and a team of mass properties engineers and technologists assigned to support a diverse group programs such as the F/A-18 Super Hornet, the EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft, the F-15 and F-22 fighters, the T-7A Air Force Trainer, the B-1 and B-52 bombers and additional proprietary programs.

There will be a potential to work hybrid (part time at Boeing and part time virtual).
You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers that support various programs with various hybrid work schedules.
As the manager, it will be your responsibility to ensure sufficient onsite leadership coverage exists for your assigned team.
Position Responsibilities:Responsible for the performance management and evaluation of direct reports including 1:1 coaching, employee development, ensuring technical proficiency and motivating team membersDevelops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goalsSupport B& F programs with implementation of initiatives including, DevEx and SEIT TransformationSupport Enterprise Standard Gate ReviewsResponsible for defining and executing a staffing strategy, including acquiring, training, and deploying staff for identified needs or reductionsLeverages diversity and inclusion to drive greater innovation and stronger technical solutionsEstablish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholdersPartners with local and enterprise-wide system and mass properties engineering leaders to advance and support the fields of system and mass properties engineering fieldResponsible for meeting first time quality and presenting progress to plan utilizing program preferred metrics or mutually agreeable forms of communicationIdentifies, leads and/or supports initiatives to improve the system and mass properties engineering capabilityAcquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvementsDevelops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reportsProvides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryAbility to acquire a Secret level security clearance5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) Active Secret Security Clearance1+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of structures engineers1+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager)1+ years of experience in project managementExperience in system engineering or mass properties engineering Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
