Job SummaryAchieve growth and hit regional sales targets by successfully managing the sales team in the 4 corner states of Colorado, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico.

Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands Avantor’s customer base and ensure it’s strong presence.

Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.

Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; project expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)Hire, train, and set expectations with all sales associates in the region.Continually evaluate associate progress and performance.Provide formal and informal sales training to all sales associates in assigned area.Develop programs and selling strategies to motivate sales force and stimulate sales.Develop and maintain sound customer and supplier relations.Directly handle contract negotiations for key accounts.Prepare sales and gross margin forecasts for region territories and analyze and monitor sales data for the regionMonitor and manage key product sales.Successfully interface with internal customers and service providers such as NCO, Furniture division, VWR Specialists and Business Process Consultants.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)College degree or equivalent experience requiredMinimum of 5 years experience.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)Experience in establishing high level customer relationshipsExperience in account development and implementationExperience in Microsoft Office productsSeveral years of successful outside sales experienceStrong industry knowledgeStrong negotiation skillsStrong customer focus (internal and external)Good presentation skillsGood coaching skillsAble to prioritize and manage multiple projectsStrong communication skillsGood interpersonal skillsOrganization SkillsConflict Resolution skillsProblem solving skillsDegree or equivalent experienceENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.Work assignments are diversified.

Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems.

New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

Minimal physical effort is required.

Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
