Slingshot
Slingshot is looking for our next great media leader to join our growing team.
If you have both traditional and digital experience, a passion for developing innovative cross-platform and cross-device solutions, geek out over cool targeting tech, and can rock a pretty sweet flowchart, then we’d love to talk.
The ideal candidate will have worked hands-on in an adserver (preferably Sizmek or DCM) for campaign tagging, deployment, and/or reporting, will be able to explain on-air audience delivery as easily as viewability monitoring, and will be completely fluent in a world full of acronyms (e.g.
GRPs, OOH, CPM, CPP, CTR, CPCV, CPE, CPL, SQAD, R&F, RFPs, and MRI).
An exacting sense of financial accountability with stewarding every penny transparently and responsibly in our clients’ media investments is also critical, as is an appreciation of (and perhaps borderline obsession with) data and the story it tells.
So, if digging through research and stats, evaluating trends, unearthing patterns, understanding how media works, optimizing plans to engage customers, and assembling decks to present insightful rationale is your jam, keep reading.
Collaborating closely with a fellow AMD on integrated planning team account assignments is a big part of this role.
However, you’ll also be expected to operate independently and semi-autonomously as the day-to-day lead on your own set of media accounts, including interfacing with clients and keeping timelines and complex projects moving, and you would report directly to the department Group Media Director.
Along with leading media planning across all platforms, and leading buying and negotiation for out-of-home, print, streaming, display, and rich media, you will also collaborate closely with our Group Director of SEM/Social and Performance/Analytics, as well as our Broadcast/Linear Supervisor.
You will be expected to be conversationally proficient in the lingo and basic concepts of SEM, paid social, and linear broadcast buying (though you will not be expected to be hands-on in Google, Facebook, Amazon, or Strata).
Multi-cultural media experience is a plus.
Additionally, there’s a small group of planners that roll up to this position, and so management and supervisory experience is also necessary, as you coach and mentor their personal and professional development too.
Other requirements:
· 5+ years of experience (agency experience preferred or a hands-on planning/buying role if client-side)
· Client-facing presentation experience is a must
· Bachelor’s degree
· Team-oriented, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude
· Insatiable curiosity or a love of puzzles
· Acute attention to detail and comfort with numbers
· Rock-star level Excel skills
· Stellar references
Slingshot is a mid-sized, independent agency, in Dallas, Texas, founded on a culture of innovation and driven by a welcoming and entrepreneurial spirit at all levels, from front desk to corner office.
(Except we work in a pretty open space with rustic tables, warm brick, wood beams, and very few doors, but you get the point.) Most team members are working hybrid schedules right now, with 2-3 days per week in the office for our “connect” days, and with 2-3 days per week working remotely from home for our “flex” days, so this position is intended to be local in Dallas.
( If you are seeking a full time remote position from another city, this position is probably not the right fit for you.) We love the environment and the vibe of our historic West End building; the weekly beer cart and biweekly catered breakfast all-agency meeting, and other cool things like fully paid month sabbatical time off earned at seven years are pretty awesome too, not to mention 401k matching and other comprehensive insurance and holiday/vacation benefits offered as well.
Applicants, please ensure your LinkedIn profile is up to date, and please also provide a PDF copy of your resume including an email address and a mobile phone number.
Slingshot is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a warm and welcoming workplace for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, cultural background, faith, parental status, sexual orientation/gender identity, or any other disability or difference that makes each person unique.
