Seqirus is the second largest influenza vaccine company in the world and is a transcontinental partner in pandemic preparedness and a major contributor to the prevention and control of influenza globally.We invite you to take a look at the many career possibilities available around the globe and consider building your promising future at CSL by becoming a member of our team!ResponsibilitiesQualificationsCSL Behring, a global biopharmaceutical leader driven by our promise to save and improve lives, is looking for an Associate Director, Project Definition & Initiation Lead – Business Process & Technology, who will be accountable to develop, manage, plan, lead and execute project definition and initiation for the Business Process & Technology portfolio of programs/projects within DTES (Digital Technology & Execution Systems).Direct Reports – Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead, Governance and Risk Management Lead, and assigned resources (as needed).Responsibilities:Leads Project Definition and Initiation by developing project proposals into fully defined projects, collaborating with the Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead to develop a holistic understanding of the activities and resources needed to deliver programs and projects that meet stated requirements.Accountable to coordinate and serves as liaison between Portfolio Management, Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead, Project Execution Leads, and line management.Coordinates with Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead to allocate proper mix of Project Management resources, ensuring the best fit between the needs of the Project and stated requirements. Transitions Project Definition and Initiation artifacts and outputs to the assigned Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead for subsequent design and execution.Facilitates maturing the organization’s project management methodologies, processes, and policies.Closely coordinates project Definition and Initiation activities with the assigned Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead.Responsible for establishing Project Assurance processes including health checks, technical reviews, change readiness assessments, lessons learned, and project management surveys.Ensures the effective use of technology for Portfolio and Project Management including project portfolio management system, ERP, collaboration, document management, and enterprise learning systems.Is engaged externally on understanding best practices and innovations in his/her spaceLeads and manages Project Definition and Initiation Operations.Leads the Definition and Initiation of projects in collaboration with the Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead, BPT Portfolio Lead, Business Partners and Execution Leads. Assures that projects have been setup with appropriate business sponsorship, effective governance, and rigorous risk management through collaboration with Scoping and Planning Lead and resources.Serves as a Subject Matter and process expert for the Definition and Initiation operations and ensures consistent and high quality project proposals. Working with Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead, appropriately challenges projects ahead of Governance presentations and assures that projects are positioned to deliver the intended benefits in support of identified strategic and operational priorities.Manages global, regional and site specific business relationships to assure project quality and compliance, effective sourcing, and efficient financial cost management including budget planning, capital forecasting and monitoring of operational expense, resource allocation, etc.Directs Scoping, Planning and Business Case Lead assignments and Governance Lead. In collaboration with Project Execution Leads, manages resource requirements to assure effective allocation of project managers and coordinators. Ensures projects are setup correctly in the PPM tool (e.g. Clarity).Ensures delivery standardization and increases capabilities for project, program and portfolio management in alignment with Enterprise Process Management (EPM) and enterprise portfolio management framework. Drives continuous improvement by assessing results and improving processes.Directs and manages the Definition and Initiation, and continuous improvement of project assurance activities to increase the likelihood of intended value realization for projects and programs, and to assure the implementation of accepted framework, methods, processes, technologies, templates, and tools.Takes a leadership role for the advocacy and advancement of the CSL project culture, process culture and the Digital Technology and Execution Systems organization. Participates in the development of strategies and roadmaps to define future direction and current operational plans.Actively role models expected project management and leadership behaviors and processes designed to improve project results and the performance of the team.Qualifications:Bachelor degree in relevant discipline; education in a technical discipline preferred; MBA/advanced degree preferred10+ years’ experience in program/project management using formal project management methodology, techniques and tools7+ years’ demonstrated leadership/management experience, demonstrated experience developing and delivering building portfolio/program capabilitiesSpecific experience delivering Business Technology projects/programsExperience within pharmaceutical/biotech/other regulated industry preferredDemonstrated success managing/delivering global programs/projectsFamiliarity with organizational change management (e.g. ADKAR)Project Management certification (PMP PMI or IPMA) desirableCompetenciesThinks Innovatively and beyond and helps teams respond to the external environmentAttends Program Management consortia, conferences and meetingsBuilds bridges and proactively improves cross-business collaborationUnleashes outcomes and empowers team member accountability and decision makingIgnites agility and leads effective organizational changeInspires the future and ensures teams buy into the strategyCultivates high performance teams, culture, talent, and creates development opportunities for self and team.CapabilitiesWorker Type:EmployeeWorker Sub Type:RegularPDN-9541_R-118220-3
