nn nn Associate Director, Employee Relations nn nn We seek an attorney who is an experienced labor or employee relations professional to join our dynamic HR–based Employee Relations team.

nn nn In this highly visible and interactive role you will provide managers and employees with assistance on employee relations matters, enterprise-wide, to achieve the highest levels of employee engagement and patient satisfaction, making HSS an employer of choice.

nn nn You will counsel managers on methods of addressing performance concerns with employees, including the appropriate use of performance evaluations, corrective action and performance improvement plans.

You will investigate reports of harassment, discrimination and violations of employment laws and/or HSS policies.

You will participate in the internal employee grievance procedure and assist employees in addressing their workplace concerns and complaints.

Responsibilities also include counseling employees and managers regarding workplace accommodations pursuant to applicable federal, state and local laws. You will also provide education to the management team regarding changing laws, harassment prevention, and other topics as needed.

nn nn The successful candidate will possess a minimum of seven to ten years’ experience managing labor/employee relations matters for an employer with more than 2000 employees .

Previous experience in a healthcare or large, academic medical environment strongly preferred.

Extensive knowledge and experience working with employment laws including but not limited to: ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA and other federal, state and local laws governing the workplace is required.

Must be a strategic thinker with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a high stress environment.
