The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Pay Grade 18 Employee Category Professional staff Department Financial Aid EClass Code Full Time Professional Staff Position Summary The Associate Director of Scholarships is a member of the financial aid leadership team and reports to the Executive Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
This position manages the Scholarship Unit and oversees the coordination, development, and compliance of all scholarship programs, as well as multiple specialized grant programs.
The Associate Director of Scholarships serves as part of the extended interdepartmental leadership team within the Enrollment Management division, which reviews, develops, recommends, implements and monitors operating policies and procedures within the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships; and for the allocation and awarding of state and institutional scholarship funds.
All duties require monitoring and keeping current of federal, state, institutional, and private donor regulations and office policies and procedures to ensure accurate release of information and program compliance.
Prepares and/or assists with various federal, state, institutional and external agency fiscal and data reports.
The incumbent is responsible for the administration of the $10+ million scholarship program.
This position along with the Executive Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships determines the allocation of state and institutional scholarship funds.
This person hires, trains, and directs other full-time employees, providing direction in daily work and career development.
Duties also include typical financial aid tasks including file review and meeting with families and students, and other duties and projects as assigned.
The Associate Director represents MSU Denver as a professional member of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships within the MSU Denver community and at conferences and special events.
IND208 Duties/Responsibilities As a member of the financial aid leadership team, this individual monitors and coordinates the scholarship functions in relation to all federal, state, institutional, and private donor regulations, and rules.
Essential functions include ongoing development and maintenance of policies and procedures, review and reconciliation of scholarship funds, development, and implementation of various programs, execute internal controls and processes to ensure compliance.
Develops and presents staff training modules/sessions for new and current staff to stay abreast of changes to scholarship programs.
Working with the senior staff within financial aid to ensure strong customer service and to maintain compliance with print, email, and web communications pertaining to scholarship awards.
Maintains strong relationships with campus and external partners, including but not limited to Bursar’s Office, Registrar’s’ Office, and the MSU Denver Foundation to ensure compliance, engage in the creation of external partnerships, and to provide training.
Works with families and students and reviews financial aid and scholarship applications using federal and institutional methodology to determine aid eligibility.
Support and engage in Anti-Racism efforts pursued by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and the Enrollment Management Division.
Supervisory Duties: Supervises other employees including professional scholarship personnel as well as student employees.
Is responsible for the hiring, training, and professional development of those who work within the scholarship unit.
Other duties as assigned: Some weeknight/weekend and holiday work is required.
The Associate Director of Scholarships may travel to present and/or attend financial aid workshops and conferences.
Other duties may be assigned.
