Regency Care Center – Job Summary:The overall purpose of the Social Services Director position is to enable the facility to identify the medically related social and emotional needs of the residents: This position acts to meet those needs through individual and group social services programming. This position also promotes residents’ potential during their stay and collaborates with medical personnel and resident in preparation for discharge.Job Requirements:Bachelor degree in social work (BSW), (or secondary education in the social services and certification as a “social work designee” may be substituted as appropriate).Current State Clinical Social Work Licensure.At least 3 years of long term care experience in all aspects of social services and discharge planning.The Director/Manager is required to complete the Assisted Living Management course whose curriculum includes at least six (6) hours of training specifically related to Iowa rules and laws on assisted living programs within six (6) months of employmentExperience in which administrative and supervisory ability has been demonstrated but not requiredDuties and Responsibilities:The Director/Manager has the overall responsibility for all departments, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, laws, and rules relating to care provided to the tenants and administration of the programThe Director/Manager has the overall responsibility of maintaining control and directing all program financial concernsSelect and direct personnel to provide services to and for the tenants of the programCommunicate with family members regarding the condition and progress of the tenant, including in-person and telephone discussions where appropriateOrganize and lead monthly in-service educational programs for all employees and record maintenance of programs and participantsOversee program payroll records and other accounting/financial mattersMaintain and review all cost reports for income versus expenditures and balances remaining according to all applicable rules/regulations of state and federal lawsMaintain a staffing pattern in all departments to meet the needs of the tenants and the program.Oversee authorizations of overtime, disciplining, and terminating of employeesResponsible for employment evaluations and provide counseling and assistance when necessary on employee performance improvement issuesAssist with development, revising and enforcing all program policies and proceduresAssist with completion of reports, census data, and/or other information/documentation as required by internal polices, state and federal rules, regulations and laws for assisted living facilitiesDevelop and carryout marketing and census building effortsDevelop and maintain referral list and market to all referral sourcesRespond to all phone and in-person inquiriesTour all potential tenantsMake daily rounds to check building appearanceMaintain tenant charts and administrative filesMaintain staff personnel filesOrder and maintain necessary suppliesHire, train, and evaluate universal workers to ensure proper staffing for assisted livingCoordinate training and/or delegation of staff with RNFill in for universal worker as necessaryFollow policies/procedures for assisted living to ensure regulatory complianceOther duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:The Director/Manager may be called upon to life equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 poundsOn occasion the Director/Manager may be required to assist with lifting tenantsFrequently required to carry objects including charts and equipment up to 15 poundsMay be occasionally called upon to carry equipment up to 30 poundsCarrying equipment in excess of 30 pounds is not requiredThe Director/Manager is required to have vision corrected to average to assess and respond to resident needsRequired to have an average range of hearing, as corrected, in order to respond to tenant, staff, family, and/or others.The Director/Manager is required to work with all other persons in the facility and the ability to get along with others and to socialize with others is essentialIn addition, the Director/Manager is responsible for meeting and dealing with residents and their families requiring excellent communication and socialization skillsPay, Benefits and Perks:Competitive Pay Based on ExperienceShift Differential Pay Available (at participating locations)Paid Time Off (PTO) + One Floating Holiday Per Year401(k) plus Company MatchMedical (Teledoc Included), Dental, Vision, and Life Insurances offered including other voluntary benefitsEarned Wage Advances/Daily Pay – Get early access to earned wages anytime, anywhere.
