The position reports to the General Manager.Job SummarySupervises day-to-day transportation functions to ensure performance, customer satisfaction, and that Department and Company objectives for efficiency, reliability and productivity are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities:Review retail compliance guides and create SOPs (standard operating procedures)Maintain and manage various Order LogsManage Outbound Order volume and carriers including pick-ups for small parcel/LTL/TL carriersSchedule and work with Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, DHL and other carriersManage escalations for carriers and clientsAudit clerical data entry and create mechanisms to balance workflowDiscovering and developing talentCreating SOPs on internal processesManage inventory transfers/movesOversight of daily billing functionsUpdating transportation spreadsheets for routing and billing (high velocity skus / trading partners, hazmat calculations, supply tracking, and identifying and capturing month end accrual for next monthDetailed logs and reporting of billable functionsImplementing changes to create efficiencyStaying up to date on latest hazmat certificationsFilling out commercial invoices and slips Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Knowledge:Relevant safety policies, practices, and proceduresStorage and shipmentMaterial handlingInventory control concepts and techniquesDispatching practicesBarcodingCompany computer systemsWarehouse racking systems/processesSupervisory concepts and techniquesRelevant regulatory procedures and standards (OSHA, Retail Compliance)Retailer Portal data entry and requirementsSkilled In:Leading a diverse workforceSupervising and motivating associates in a team-based environmentInterpreting warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutionsWorking effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer serviceAbility To:Pivot at a moment’s noticeImplement changes to create efficiencyStay up to date on latest hazmat certificationsSelective Preference:The ideal candidate will have an AA degree from a vocational, technical or junior college preferred; forklift instructor certification; 3-6 years of relevant work experience BenefitsFull benefit package including Health, 401k, Dental, Vision Our House RulesSHOOT STRAIGHT Tell it like it is.
