Service Manager/Field SupervisorBase Salary plus commissionsJob Summary: This position is responsible for leading and training air conditioning technicians on proper procedures on tune ups, troubleshooting and repairing of HVAC equipment.
(20 tons and under).Plumbing knowledge is a bonus for water heaters and basic residential and commercial applications.Additional responsibilities include; interviewing potential new hires, assisting technicians in the field on trouble calls, communicating with upset customers and using discretionary judgment in solving most customer problems related to our services.Performance Responsibilities:Receive oral and/or written work requests and set prioritiesImprove overall performance for company while eliminating call backsWeekly meetings with management to discuss company strategiesImplementation of new policies and proceduresConduct quality checks of work in progress or completedProvide technical assistance when neededRecommendations related to hiring, discipline, promoting or discharging of employeesPerforms other duties/special assignments as required to meet company goalsSkills:Thorough knowledge of HVAC theoryThorough knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipmentWorking knowledge of electricityAbility to diagnose equipment malfunctions and prescribe repair proceduresAbility to lead, train and supervise othersAbility to prioritieze, plan assign, coordinate and direct the work of HVAC mechancis and crew leadersAbility to design smaller systems or design modifications to larger systemsAbility to review and critique plans and specifications for HVAC and environmental control systemsMaintain records on training’s performedUnderstand and work from blueprints, schematics, sketches and/or pencil drawingsExcellent listening and communication skillsManual skills to repair equipmentComputer and software capabilitiesAbility to drive a cargo van with a trailerAbility to work within a team environmentAbility to be self motivated and disciplineAbility to be flexible and perform special assignments as required to meet our ongoing growth needsKnowledge:Safety methods and practicesTools and materials for use in HVAC installation, maintenance and repairsNational, State and Local codesUse and care/upkeep of tools and equipment necessary to perform HVAC workProper estimating for job costsSafety Sensitive PositionThis is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding the position has the responsibility for his/her own safety, as well as the safety of the general public.
