MissionThe mission of the Program Manager is to advance AGTC’s discovery and pre-clinical programs to later development phases by constructing and managing integrated work plans, by leading cross-functional Product Development Teams (PDTs) to execute program work and generate deliverables, and by applying project and program management standards and best practices to maintain scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Reporting RelationshipThis position reports directly to the Senior Director Program Management or designeeDuties and ResponsibilitiesManage early phase gene therapy development programs and component projects in a coordinated manner consistent with program and project management standardsPlan, implement, and monitor program schedules and budgets that integrate the activities required to advance assigned programs through successive stages of developmentLead cross-functional Product Development Teams (PDTs) to execute development plans and generate program deliverablesLead Risk Management activities for assigned programs, including risk reviews to document risks to program objectives and baselines, and plan responsesContinuously optimize plans based on the outcomes of program activitiesSchedule PDT and program meetings, generate and distribute minutes and agendas, assign action items, and track action item fulfillmentCollaborate with internal stakeholders (AGTC departments and functional groups) and external stakeholders (vendors, sponsored research investigators, partners) to identify and meet program requirementsWork with subject matter experts and technical leads to define statements of work for research and service agreementsForm and lead joint project teams for partnered programs with AGTC Alliance ManagerServe as the primary point of contact for external project and program managers and establish plans for reporting and communicationApply project management best practices in the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and closing of projects within the development programConduct Lessons Learned reviews to facilitate continuous improvement and ensure lessons are appropriately utilized in future programs or development stagesPrepare and present program status reports, briefings, and presentations internally and externallyEducational QualificationsBachelor’s degree Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline preferredPMP Certification preferred Additional QualificationsProject Manager II: minimum of two (2) years of project or program management experience in a drug development or life sciences industry requiredProject Manager III: minimum of five (5) years of project or program management experience in a drug development or life sciences industry requiredBiopharmaceutical or gene therapy product development experience preferredAbility to learn and apply PMBOK® concepts, tools, and techniquesExperience with activity and deliverable planning and schedulingKnowledge of GLP, GMP, GCP regulations and requirements preferredExcellent teamwork and ability to lead and motivate project teams Great attention to detailStrong interpersonal skillsStrong planning, prioritization, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with site personnel, peers, and managementSolid time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver high quality results within set timelines
