Advisory Director, Family Office (Partner Track)

Family Office Overview:

BPM’s Family Office provides accounting and operational services to ultra-high net worth individuals and families.

The services provided range from bill payment, cash management, and financial reporting to comprehensive personal CFO services.

We are a small but growing department with a start-up mentality.

We are building the core infrastructure for the new department and looking for candidates with substantial and varied professional experience who are comfortable sharing their ideas, opinions, and lessons learned.

The Director will be an integral part of the Family Office group, leading small teams of accountants, while establishing overall operational procedures for the practice, and providing diversified administrative and day-to-day financial support for multiple clients.

You will:

• Lead and oversee the coordination of all accounting functions for high-net worth individuals/family clients and their investment entities

• Manage and motivate staff across multiple teams on a daily basis

• Drive the operational, financial, and reporting aspects of each engagement

• Oversee the clients accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger entries and maintenance

• Have responsibility for month-end and year-end close of financial statements, account reconciliations, general ledger analysis, and annual audits, where applicable

• Oversee payroll for clients employees as needed

• Develop and evaluate firm accounting policies and procedures in conjunction with clients’ needs, and recommend process improvements

• Manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis

• Be responsible for managing any ad-hoc projects as needed

• Contribute to weekly management meetings to help drive the goals and objectives of the Firm and Practice

You have:

• Expertise in accounting as an accomplished manager and leader, with a minimum of 8 years accounting experience including at least 3 years as a Controller (or a similar position)

• Proven and ample experience leading and managing numerous teams and team members, with an ability to train, motivate and mentor staff

• An extensive and diverse accounting background, including payroll and partnership accounting, preferably within a professional services environment (working with high-net-worth individuals preferred)

• Experience with fair value calculations among funds and between classes with different preference rights

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and QuickBooks (Cloud Accounting
– NetSuite, Sage Intacct knowledge preferred)

• Solid understanding and working knowledge of GAAP and financial statements

• Strong leadership, project management and client service skills, as well as, ample business development experience

• A driven mentality and a desire to become Partner

• Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and professional demeanor

• Outstanding organization skills, as well as, excellent verbal and written communication skills

• The ability to prioritize assignments, effectively manage and respond to multiple clients and department needs in a timely manner

• A proven ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment

• Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance

• CPA license preferred

• Tax experience/exposure preferred
