About the Role
As the Accounts Payable (AP) Manager, you will be an outstanding leader and manager, able to
strike the right balance of process and accounting integrity with business practicality.
In this
highly cross-functional role, you will lead and direct the AP team through the day to day
operations, supporting a domestic procure to pay function to support the day-to-day activities
of accounts payable for both fixed assets, non-inventory vendors, travel and business expense
activities, and master vendor data.
You will have superior attention to detail, inquisitive and analytical, a self-starter, system savvy
and a team player.
You will look for ways to improve and make the procure-to-pay process
more efficient.
Strong written and communication skills are required.

We play a critical role in Landings mission and we partner closely with the business to make the company more successful.
Our accounting team includes a Revenue Team and an Expense Team that work closely together, reporting to the Director of Accounting.
What You’ll Do
Manage day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department
Responsible for managing process for all disbursements including checks runs, wires,
and ACH
Responsible for annual 1099 filings and accuracy and completeness of vendor
information maintained for 1099 reporting requirements
Manage the corporate credit card and employee expense reports processes
Responsible for accurate and timely completion of AP month-end and year-end closing
processes
Monitor, maintain and enhance all internal controls in relation to AP and cash
disbursement functions
Prepare and review journal entries to AP related accounts, prepare reconciliations for
these accounts, clear any applicable reconciling items, and prepare any schedules
required for the audit or management
Work with Accounting team on potential system upgrades and integrations as it relates
to AP and expense reporting
Train internal staff on AP related tasks
Working Conditions
This position is based in Birmingham, AL.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field
Minimum five years of progressive AP experience in a high-volume transaction
environment using major accounting software system
Experience with Netsuite ERP required.
Experience with Tipalti, Concur, Coupa or
comparable AP system.
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Strong experience with 1099, W-9 and W-8 reporting and requirements.
Superior Microsoft Excel skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with direct reports, Finance colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders
Excellent attention to detail while possessing a strong work ethic, hands-on, and enthusiastic mentality about working in a collaborative team environment.
Outstanding project management and multi-tasking skills.
