It’s a roll-up-your-sleeves, get things done atmosphere.As the Senior Education Manager, you will report directly to the Vice President of Education and support the Education Department and the association by coordinating the development, administration, and implementation of established education programs as well as support the building of new audiences, opportunities, and offerings.
The position requires the ability to act as an ambassador for the association and its programs in promoting the association as a leader within the hospitality field and encouraging membership engagement in AAHOA’s educational programming.
Essential Job Functions
· Tracking and translating data generated through the education department offerings
· Generating industry specific content ideas and delivery methods
· Sourcing and evaluating speakers for maximized impact
· Planning workshops and other in person education sessions
· Developing and maintaining relationships with industry partnersQualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preferably in instructional design, hospitality, or communications)
· Previous experience in the lodging industry, asset management, or franchise relations
· Familiarity with web based learning platforms
· Exhibited skill in working with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences and understanding the learning needs and interests of diverse populations.
Eagerness to creatively invent new and innovative content and facilitation.
· Strong planning and project management skills
· Organized self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong facilitation and speaking skills
· Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a highly cross-departmental function
· Advanced computer skills (Familiarity with GoToWebinar, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Zoom and is a plus) and a quick learner who is eager to explore new technology
· Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
· Excellent time management skills
· Sound judgment under pressure and demonstrated ability to creatively solve issues
· Creative thinking and strategizing to accomplish all departmental goals
· Must be a team player – willing to jump in and assist where needed
