We are a leading staffing firm, and our clients include some over the nation’s biggest companies. Our client has a need for a 1st Shift Supervisor. This is a contract position; however, it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Applicant must be eligible to work in the US for immediate opening.  For this opportunity, the successful candidate will be directly employed by Bartech Staffing as a W2 employee while providing services to our end client.

1st Shift Supervisor       

Job Responsibilities                                              

Your specific duties as a 1st Shift Supervisor will include: 

• Supervises the execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in safety, quality, schedule, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Work directly with the Day Shift Supervisor to ensure appropriate throughput of material.
• Administers employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules appropriate for the unit.
• Participate in one-on-one meetings with Supervisor as needed to support discipline or other personnel matters.
• Monitors individual performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed, and responds to complaints to ensure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures, and work rules.
• Establishes employee environment regarding communications, feedback, and overall guidance.
• Ensures that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job
• Works with Safety Team in meeting company standards and enforces safety regulations to prevent and eliminate injuries.
• Resolves various systems, parts, people, or process issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs, improve processes/performance.
• Manages and controls costs to stay within the department operating budget targets. Coordinates departmental continuous improvement plans and activities.

Job Requirements       

As a 1st Shift Supervisor, you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual, and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• An understanding of employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules.
• Experience with shop floor manufacturing and work measurement.
• Working knowledge of the appropriate operating and information systems.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous supervisory experience
• Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience.
• Must have flexibility to work variable shifts.
