JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Sr. Software Engineer

Position Objective:

The Sr. Software Engineer (TMS) oversees and actively participates in the design, testing, implementation and support of the Sunbelt TMS system and related technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze functional requirements to determine technical design, creating technical specifications for larger scale projects; provide level of effort assessments
  • Develop software solutions utilizing BlueYonder and tools
  • Analyze, assess, and support existing business applications
  • Research and advise on emerging application development practices
  • Develops and improves the company’s programming, documentation and computer standards
  • Responsible for the adherence to change controls and change management protocols
  • Incorporates performance and auditing considerations in delivered applications and development
  • Identify and analyze new and emerging business technologies and provide management with insight and recommendations/improvements to the current system
  • Assist business in the requirements gathering by providing input to the requirements collection and review processes
  • Assist in defining how BlueYonder TMS and Logistics can be integrated with Sunbelt systems
  • Provide assistance during Proof of Concept (POC) by interacting with field operations, store managers, dispatchers and third party vendors and their tools
  • Act as a operation resource, reviewing the planning outputs and managing exceptions
  • Develop / implement the TMS solution
  • Provide support in production issue resolution
  • Document solutions, provide application and performance improvements

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 3-5 years of software development experience in the TMS domain, including experience implementing BlueYonder TMS and Logistics and integrating with other BlueYonder modules and Mulesoft
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meeting timelines
  • Ability to collaborate with vendors and cross functional teams to design, develop, and deploy new applications
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with little supervision
  • Communicate effectively across development and business teams
  • Experience exposing and consuming web services, JSON, REST APIs
  • Change management experience and familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira
  • Experience in object-oriented programming
  • Experience in Transportation Management Systems and Logistics
  • Experience in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with MuleSoft preferred
  • Experience with Azure environment preferred
  • Experience in with Microsoft .NET and .NET Core technologies and the C# programming language preferred
  • Knowledge of UI security issues and best practices to prevent vulnerabilities preferred

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
