Transportation & Disposal Coordinator

This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted May 20, 2021.

EQM ( An ASRC Industrial Services Company) is adding 2 Hazardous Materials Specialists / Transportation and Disposal Coordinators to support continued growth to both government and private sector clients.

JOB DUTIES / SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates may have a B.S.

degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and a minimum three years of working knowledge of chemical characteristics and technical experience in oil, petroleum and hazardous substance disposal regulations.

If you are a responder, lab packer or Hazmat worker without a degree, you need to apply as waste management experience will be considered in leu of education with respect to the following:
Promote culture of safety by working with site personnel that are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state and local regulations.

Coordinate logistics for transportation and disposal of hazardous waste, universal waste and non-hazardous waste from client sites including developing sampling requirements, profiling, scheduling, manifesting and cost tracking of wastes.

Have a functional understanding of US DOT waste shipping requirements with or ability to learn and become proficient with IMDG and international shipments.

Ability to correctly complete hazardous waste manifests, profile and assign wastes their proper regulatory classifications, and knowledge of analytical information required for bulking of compatible waste streams.

Experience handling hazardous materials and wastes required.

Current Driver’s License required.

Current 40-Hour Hazwoper Certification required.

Ability to lift 50-pounds and move full hazardous materials/waste drums and containers.

Ability to obtain forklift license (includes passing drug screening and physical).

Ability to prepare written technical reports covering the transportation and disposal operations.

Ability to manage and insure proper execution of multiple simultaneous contracts.

Project management and good communications skills are also essential.

Resolve all issues in a timely manner.

Assist with client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing, reporting and contracts.

The T&D coordinator is responsible for the following se rvices: Correctly complete h a z a rdous waste profiles and manifests, and assi gn wastes to the proper r e gulatory c l assifications, and in coordination with the chemist, provide an eff e ctive waste minimiz ation strate gy including bulking compatible w aste streams.

Ensure that identified a nd/or procured on and of f -site treatment, transporta tion, storage and disposal se r vice providers are o ff-site rule (including but not limited to CERC LA, RCRA, TSCA, NESHAP, OPA, and DOT) compliant.
