Regional Driver – Class A (full-time) – Indianapolis, IN

Batesville

This is a Contract position in Zionsville, IN posted December 12, 2021.

Position Summary:

Regional – Class A Driver in Indianapolis, IN will safely drive and operate tractor trailer combination within its designated territory and into Canada.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    Make on time deliveries Operate tractor trailer combinations safely and efficiently Maintain hours of service status and all shipping documentation Read and understand maps in order to maneuver around the country Help load and unload caskets Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications – External

Travel:
Travel is not required outside of the normal driving responsibilities of this position.

Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Required Skills:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables Ability to use desktop computer to review and be tested on safety videos

Preferred Skills:

    Ability to use electric on-board recorder (EOBR) and/or paper log systems to maintain hours of service status 3+ years driving experience

Required Experience:

    Fully understand DOT rules and regulations Excellent safety record Must be 23 years of age or older Ability to enter Canada and return with no restrictions due to criminal history or personal status with valid passport or passport card Clean MVR / CSA Score 1 year driving experience. Additional training would be required and provided. Class A Commercial Driver’s License with the ability to obtain Doubles and HAZMAT Endorsements within training period. Valid Passport
