Organization Overview
Since 1981 CHRIS 180 has been dedicated to healing and recovery for children, youth, adults and families and is a growing $33+ million organization with over 385 employees.
CHRIS 180 services include: counseling for the community at large; school based mental health counseling; homes for abused, neglected foster children with emotional and behavioral problems who are in state custody; supportive housing for single and parenting young people, ages 17 24 who are homeless or aging out of foster care; in-home services and community programs that strengthen families; outreach, drop-in and community housing for older teens, young adults and young adult families; a community center; an adoption program for children in foster care; and, training for professionals, human service workers, educators, volunteers, individuals who work within the community, other organizations and children, youth and families.

Program Overview:
No single entity can respond to the complex needs of youth with serious emotional and behavioral challenges as well as youth who are experiencing the symptoms of substance use disorders.
TREE House creates an environment where youth and families can come to get needs met in one spot.
Our mission is to enhance and expand comprehensive treatment, early intervention and recovery support services to adolescents (ages 13-17), transitional aged youth (ages 18-24) and their families/primary caregivers with Substance Use Disorders and/or Co-Occurring Disorders.
Our services include: Intensive Outpatient Treatment for those suffering with a substance use disorder; Level I Outpatient treatment for Recovery or Early Intervention needs; individual and family counseling; Wrap services with a full treatment team to provide support for the entire family; in-home services and community programs that strengthen families.
With the growing epidemic of Opioid Use Disorders and other illicit drugs, our program services to address the pervasive problem of substance use among youth in the North Metro Atlanta area and the urgent need to fill gaps in treatment and services specific to this population.
Position Description
We are looking for a Peer Recovery Transportation Specialist to provide secure timely driving and Peer recovery coaching supportive services to different programs within CHRIS 180, such as the Tree House program.
Peer2Peer transportation service is inclusive to non-traditional establishments that benefits in building the peers recovery capital: job interviews, library, meetings, recovery events, program group outings, IOP / OP treatment appointments, etc.
As a Driver in this position, you will transport youth and staff to their designated locations using CHRIS180 Van.
Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
Assists a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Works under immediate supervision.
Essential Transportation Functions
Dress appropriately and in accordance with CHRIS 180 dress code.Keep up a travel log to record areas traveled to, travel time, and work hoursReport any case of accident, injury or damage of vehicles to the supervisor or program lead immediatelyKeep all records, including receipts for vehicle gas and maintenanceTransport peers securely to areas where they are neededEnsure timely transportation of staff, clients and materials to and from places as instructed by supervisor or the managerCarry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are soundAbility to follow direct instruction, policy and proceduresResponsible for ensuring that the transportation vehicle is clean and that services is up to date and at all times to ensure safety of passengers
WORKING CONDITIONS: Extensive driving in all weather conditions
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Oversee and maintain the safety of the children while being transportedMaintain a first aid kit and emergency numbers of the program children in each Club vanEnsure that eight children at one time are being transported at one time (when more than eight children are being transported, an attendant other than the van driver is required)Ensure that all passengers (including the driver) are wearing a safety belt which is properly adjusted and fastened at all times during vehicle operation.
Essential Coaching Function
While performing the duties of this job, the Peer recovery specialist is regularly required to talk and engage in coaching peers to assist in building connection and their recovery capital via motivational interview and recovery check-ins, and provide assistance to those in early recovery by utilizing your lived experience and empathetic approaches.Provide awareness and education to Peer support recovery movement, resources and self-directed services to peers.Utilize and model CHRIS 180 and CARES core values, mission and code of ethics with your peers.Build a good working relationship with your peer that allows them to communicate their values and beliefsUse coaching skills to encourage your peer in building self-awareness for sustainability of their self-directed recovery pathway
