Job Description:

We are hiring individuals to work as Full Time Road Drivers in a growing freight market. This position involves driving a tractor-trailer as a Linehaul driver. There are immediate openings for these positions including meet and return to domicile, travel to locations and perform dock functions and return home. Road Driver candidates are 18 years of age or older with a class A CDL issued by their resident state. OPTIONAL endorsements: Haz-Mat, Twin Trailer, and Tanker.

Candidates must be physically and mentally fit, able to read, write, and speak the English language, and pass DOT requirements. . This position is being offered by WLK Transportation or its affiliates, which is not affiliated with FEDEX, Inc. or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries or related entities ( FEDEX ).

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Input macros into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations

Skills

• 1 year Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Valid CDL A truck driving license

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
