To learn more about Berry, visit berryglobal.com.We have an employment opportunity for a Local Driver (Tractor Truck) with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY:Safely operates a company tractor truck and forklift to properly manage the movement of cores, racks, packaging, and other products between departments at a local production manufacturing facility and logistics warehouse.RESPONSIBILITIES:* Safely transport products to and from Plant 1 and the Logistics Warehouse by driving a tractor truck while adhering to the posted speed limits and road signs.* Organize, count, and inventory all extrusion scrap and cores on a daily basis.* Load and unload products by using a forklift, dolly, or pallet jack.* Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicles; submit inspection report to Supervisor/Manager and local shop.* Perform daily inspections of equipment on each tractor for a period of one (1) month; maintain inspection reports for three (3) months (not a DOT law requirement); local drivers exempt from driver’s daily log.* Inspect load on tractor and trailer each time a drop or hook is completed; ensure inspections are in compliance with DOT procedures.* Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and complete all training requirements.* Set up overhead doors at Plant 1 and Logistics Warehouse.* Assist Material Handlers as needed.* Perform other related functions and duties as assigned or required.Qualifications* High school diploma or GED equivalent.* Must have a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and good Motor Vehicle Record.* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.* Ability to read and write to complete required forms and verify quality products are produced.* Must have good vision, eye-hand coordination, and hearing.* Ability to adhere to Berry’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.* Primarily work an 8 hour shift schedule; ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days, or nights for 12 or more hours.* Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day.* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.* Must have manual dexterity involving total wrist action, twisting, pulling, and raising arms at or above shoulder height.* Ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates for 12 or more hours per day or night.* Ability to mount (climb) and dismount tractor truck multiple times per day.* Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, and gloves.* Ability to operate a forklift and maintain a forklift operator license.Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: Safely operates a company tractor truck and forklift to properly manage the movement of cores, racks, packaging, and other products between departments at a local production manufacturing facility and logistics warehouse.
