Seeking a Non-CDL Delivery Driver to join our team in Danbury, CT!

Blake Equipment is the leading specialty distributor and manufacturers’ representative of water and thermal energy solutions in the Northeast. We are seeking a qualified individual to join our Danbury, CT branch. You will work alongside a team of high-energy professionals dedicated to Blake’s core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, Innovation and Kindness.

Summary:

Responsible for loading, transporting and delivering materials to customer sites. Adheres to driver safety/compliance regulations, delivers un-damaged goods on schedule, and provides professional service to customers. Non-CDL delivery specialists drive non CDL vehicles weighing less than 26,001 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Loads and appropriately secures product, materials or supplies inside delivery vehicle.
2. Delivers customer orders to specified delivery site and unloads materials safely and accurately. Takes all precautions to protect the product and the customer’s property.
3. Verifies order details and maintains logs of delivery duties including amounts and/or weights of items, mileage and locations of deliveries. Checks items against invoice to ensure order accuracy.
4. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles; performs routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines.
5. Operates a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off load materials to designated areas.
6. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous delivery experience is very helpful but not required
• Valid driver’s license
• Pass MVR check
• Pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
• Fluency in English

Physical Requirements:

Driving, the ability to push/pull/lift, lower and maneuver packages between 25 and 75 lbs., picking and packing orders, loading and unloading truck, safely navigating all kinds of surfaces in all kinds of weather; knowledge and use of correct PPE in appropriate situations, adherence to Blake’s Safety Manual and Safety Rules.
