Demand Inventory Planner

Job Description Summary: The Demand Inventory Planner is responsible for accurately forecasting import replenishment needs and flowing orders to insure the right quantities are in the right DCs and stores, at the right time while optimizing supply chain efficiencies.

The role will partner with the import and replenishment departments to optimize import processes and replenishment systems functionality that support direct import programs.

This role will be responsible for driving the import ordering process.

This role will also have responsibility for insuring common/best practices are executed for domestic forecasts, as well as managing the inventory for new business development.

Import Demand Forecasting Create accurate demand forecasts including New program set up quantities Promotional Basic replenishment Create informed forecasts considering: Planogram transitions Current and expected future inventory positions Ad and OSP programs Test programs Seasonality Known supply chain events (i.e., Chinese New Year) Domestic Vendor Demand Forecasts Oversee the generation and distribution of accurate domestic vendor demand forecasts including: New program set up quantities Promotional Basic replenishment Financial Plans and OTB Participation Develop purchase plans for managing inventory Participate in financial planning and forecasting sessions Create Optimal Order Flow Develop order cycles by item, vendor and DC that optimizes flow for greatest supply chain efficiency Develop forecasted order quantities considering container building and with limited deconsolidation.

Development and training of demand planning best practices Responsible for the development of best practices Maintain common practices in both front and back room New Business Development Inventory Management Coordinate all replenishment set up and maintenance of new business development programs Recommend inventory actions to optimize program potential or mitigate risk QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Demand forecasting and replenishment expertise: Knowledgeable of the processes techniques and systems utilized in developing accurate demand forecasts Experience with E3 or other replenishment systems preferred Replenishment and Import Supply Chain Process Expertise: Knowledgeable of the replenishment and overall supply chain business processes.

Ability to work with the Business to understand requirements that drive efficiencies in the business, taking into account the entire picture as well as details.

Strong ability to influence behaviors across the organization with a commitment to best practices Financial acumen to forecast financial requirements and inventory impacts Able to collaborate cross functionally to gather necessary information for the development of accurate forecasts EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Business, logistics, statistics, economics, finance or similar discipline degree; and 1-3 years demand planning or Replenishment, Inventory, Importing and Supply Chain experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
