Comeaux Furniture & Appliance: Delivery Driver

Job Description Comeaux Furniture, a well-established mid sized family owned local furniture retailer, is in search of an experienced driver, driver must have a (class A,B,C,or D license ) and DOT medical Card.

Must be able to lift 100 lbs., maintain 100% compliance with Federal and State DOT regulations, operate a 26′ straight truck, load, unload and assemble furniture during deliveries Essential functions and Accountability: Merchandise Delivery Manage merchandise to be delivered and returned on trucks during shift Load merchandise for day’s scheduled deliveries onto truck in a safe and efficient manner Follow established delivery guidelines that include but are not limited to removing all wrapping material, packaging, tie downs, and other waste generated from the delivery Follow specific directives issued by store regarding actual work to be done at the home during the delivery and pickup Administrative Functions: Communicate with store throughout day regarding modifications or changes in delivery routes or specific deliveries Assist with warehouse operations during periods of overflow or work demands and/or during absences of warehouse personnel Customer Service: Complete all assigned deliveries during each shift in a creative and persistent manner so as to limit customer dissatisfaction with product or experience.

Maintain a flexible and cooperative work ethic to facilitate changes that may occur in routes or deliveries throughout the day Respond positively to a variety of customer & store demands Safety: Adheres to safety policies and practices that consistently models safe behavior and risk reduction procedure Proper handling, operating, and maintenance of trucks and manual equipment in a manner that will avoid any personnel injury or damage to the vehicle, equipment and merchandise Clean and maintain a safe, organized workstation at all times Consistently abide by all company rules and expectations Wear appropriate clothing in accordance with store delivery policies Position of full time, Tuesday through Saturday 7AM to completion.
