Knowledge/Minimum Qualifications* Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver’s License* A minimum of 30 months experience working in a full-time Class A tractor and trailer driving using modern ELD logs within the past 3 years.* A minimum of 30 months of verifiable, daily flatbed driving experience* Van experience preferred (box trailer 53’x102″)* No more the (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the past (3) years.* No serious traffic violations while operating a CMV in the last (3) years.* No DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving drugs or alcohol convictions within the last (10) years.* No preventable accidents while operating a CMV in the last (3) years.* No preventable/recordable DOT accidents — collisions that disable or require immediate medical treatment away from the scene of the accident while operating a CMV in the last (10) years.* No preventable accidents that resulted in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving record (CMV driving history)* Must be able and willing to tarp (flatbed loads) in all weather conditions* Must be flexible with varying leave out and end times* Must have a safety minded attitudeSkills and Abilities* Ability to pass a written and driving test on DOT rules and regulations* Ability to pass a physical examination (DOT required)* Ability to operate an electronic board system* Ability to block, brace/strap and tie down/secure cargo for transportation and to tarp load* Ability to determine if vehicle is properly loaded and if weight cargo is adequate* Ability to drive and perform duties in a safe manner* Ability to identify equipment malfunctions and determine safe operation of the vehicle* Proficient in the use of English language in reading, writing and speaking* Ability to work in a wide range of weather conditions* Ability to interact with co-workers, customers and vendors* Good understanding of efficiencies and productivity measures* Ability to pass a drug test* Ability to work hours mandated by management.* Weighing and scaling loads* Jobsite deliveries* Multi-stop deliveries* Pulling VAN (53′ box trailer) loads as needed* Jockeying (dropping and hooking) trailers and from our plant locations for our shipping supervisors as needed* Shuttling trailers as needed* Attention to detail and accurate record keeping (FMCSA, DVIR, E-logs/HOS)*Conduct* Must not have any DOT recordable accidents in the past three years* Safety conscious* Team player and goal oriented* Leads by example and positive attitude* Good communicator, customer service oriented and problem solver* Looks for ways to improve productivity and department results
