Survey Party Chief – Miami

Ardurra was ranked 190 in ENR’s 2021 Top 500 Firms and has made Zweig Group’s prestigious Hot Firms and Best Firms to Work For lists in 2019, 2020 and 2021 Ardurra is seeking a Survey Party Chief with a minimum of 3 years experience to join our staff in Miami, FL Primary Function Supervise staff on the job site, ensuring that proper procedures and accurate reporting occurs and that supporting photographic analysis is collected.

The chief takes an active role in surveying as well.

Once all necessary findings are collected, the chief ensures data is accurately reported to the surveyor.

Primary Duties Accurate surveys play a key role when determining design, costs, planning processes, and even the feasibility of a potential project They research previous surveys and any relevant documentation for the plot of land or project area for the current survey The chief then determines what instruments and supplies will be needed and creates a plan for accurate and efficent execution of survey tasks Education and Experience Requirements 3 or more years of experience in surveying is required for this position Supervise their staff on the job site, ensuring that proper survey/safety procedures are followed and accurate reporting occurs and that supporting field notes, electronic, and photographic documentation is collected Conduct surveys and once all necessary findings are collected, the chief ensures data is accurately reported to the surveyor Train all new personnel; the chief may also be involved in the interview process for positions in the surveying department High school diploma or equivalent is required Individuals performing surveying work should expect to do most of their work outdoors, although planning and reporting work takes place in an office setting Travel is required to conduct surveying work on-site Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job.

The employee works outside in all types of weather conditions, possibly for extended periods of time.

The terrain may be rough, steep, wet or swampy.

Vegetation may be dense, and insects, snakes or animals may be encountered.
