National Accounts Surveyor

Position Summary: 
This position is responsible for fulfilling survey and estimation requests working collaboratively with the sales, design, and operation teams. Quantify all the details required to estimate the materials, labor and equipment required to complete a project. Position will support large national account customers with multiple locations/sites nationwide.  Requires extensive travel nationwide.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Surveying – Conducting National Account and Enterprise surveys including:
  • Ability to perform job site walks as needed  
  • Assess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costs
  • Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates
  • Estimation – Assist in creating sales solutions as a result of the survey data collected.
  • Act as the final say in the calculation, analysis, and adjustment of estimates
  • Present estimates to sales and management in a timely and professional  manner
  • Recommend cost-reduction options
  • Assist sales team in final project preparation transactions
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy
  • Permit Coordination – Assist in supporting efforts for submittal/permit coordination as necessary
  • Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates,  receipts, and project completion documentation 
  • Extensive travel nationwide to customer sites

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Associates degree or technical certificate; or combination of education and professional experience
  • Must have 5+ years of industry, security/fire and/or project management experience.
  • Ideal individual must be technically inclined, good written and verbal communication skills, energetic, self motivated, dependable to work under little or no supervision and demonstrate job stability and eagerness to learn.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 10 years industry experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies/Certifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Closed Circuit Television, Access Control, Burglary, Holdup, Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems.
  • Knowledge of sales, installation, billing and monitoring systems which assist managing National Accounts.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in using computer and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and Internet. Knowledge of and proficiency using CAD or similar tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of Company policies, practices, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of industry and company operations.
