Must meet qualifications of Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).
Job Requirements: Identify and teach the appropriate functional skills, ADL skills, and work skills Provide training for life skills to inmates Manage students and basic classroom responsibilities Complete a skills checklist that demonstrate satisfactory performance of all required skills for each student Provide job search skills training to claimants Assist training participants in work skills development Implementing a vocational program that instructs children in care with basic trade and skills knowledge Serve as a training instructor in a vocational or occupational training program, and may also serve as a program coordinator for other vocational/occupational training programs Conduct transferable skills analysis, vocational labor market surveys and labor market research & analysis, and job search activities Provide vocational instruction to resident for various labor and/or technical skills through classroom instruction, demonstration, training and practical exercises Develop service plan goals with the clients related to educational and vocational goals Provide students with a foundation in the skills and knowledge needed for today’s technology-based careers Identifying additional community providers of vocational services and coordinating activities in the community Select and/or develop curriculums which focus on the appropriate vocational training area Completing applications, identifying job markets, improving interview skills Develop and implement effective study skills, practices and techniques Develop relationship with vocational programs, continued education programs and employment opportunities in the community Provide instruction and training, as instructed by the case coordinator /program coordinator, in vocational/academic/community integration/home ownership and/or adult daily living skills areas Teach courses as assigned, instruct and evaluate students, develop students’ skills and encourage growth, and track attendance, performance, and grades Developing student skills, knowledge and attitudes commensurate to the goals of the program
