The Upper School Science Teacher reports directly to the Head of School and works with fellow teachers to implement a science program that builds a solid 5th through 8th curriculum alignment, focusing on an investigative approach to teaching and learning. This position is responsible for developing lesson plans; delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; and responding to inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding student progress and the instructional program, among other related responsibilities.The Upper School Science Teacher will seek to model the school’s philosophy of education through instruction and example, and provide lessons that meet the school’s requirements as well as students’ interests and capabilities.
