Summary:
Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate training sessions that focus on the principles, techniques, safety, and procedures related to the telecommunications industry
Primary Duties:
Train and evaluate field crews to ensure regulatory and skills training is completed timely. Including but not limited to; Bucket Truck, Bucket Rescue, Pole Climbing, Pole Top Rescue, Ladder Safety, CPR, NESC, Ground Disturbance, Trenching & Excavation, Confined Spaces, and all skills involving building & troubling shooting plant.
Facilitate training sessions to increase employees’ knowledge and competence, using visual aids such as videos, Power Point, graphs, charts, presentations, etc.
Assist in the design and development of the course of study according to curriculum guidelines and job site requirements
Follow guidelines and assist in administering apprentice programs
Tailor courses by developing modifications to meet participant needs and training goals
Observe and evaluate employees’ work to determine progress, provide feedback, and make suggestions for improvement
Administer written, oral, or performance tests to measure progress, and to verify the competency of USG employees
Prepare reports and maintain records such as student grades, attendance rosters and training activity details
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal/company regulations and safety standards
Support Operations and Safety teams in their efforts around safety, quality, and productivity.
Travel required to facilitate classes and visit students at various jobsites/offices (truck provided)
Manage groups of students safely and efficiently

Skills/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
A journeyman level of experience and skill in telecommunications aerial construction
Must be competent to perform all tasks and duties of a journeyman in the field of telecommunications construction
Valid driver’s license
May be asked to obtain CDL Class A driver’s license
Pre-employment drug screen/criminal background test is mandatory.
Authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor preferred
Medic First Aid certification
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, working in confined spaces, working off a pole or in a bucket.
Highly organized person and can show planning and processes to support daily work
Proficient with Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Excel, Word, etc with an emphasis on PowerPoint.
