ResponsibilitiesHampton Academy is a State of NJ; Dept.
of Education approved private day school for first through twelfth grade students with a wide range of social, emotional, behavioral and academic challenges.
Our strong academic program, which is aligned with New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, is supported by the intensive therapeutic services students need to overcome obstacles to achievement.

The classroom team is comprised of a highly qualified Certified Teacher of the Handicapped, an experienced para-professional teaching assistant and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
The team works closely together to meet the individual academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs of each student and to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and personal growth.For the 2021 2022 school year we are looking for a Full-time Professional 1:1 to work with students the Academy by organizing and supervising students in all settings.
The Paraprofessional 1:1 assists in taking care of physical needs of students, with individualized instruction and works with small groups of students under the supervision of the teacher to reinforce material introduced in class.
The Paraprofessional also guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work assigned by the teacher, helps with arrival and dismissal of students, completes clerical duties as assigned by the teacher and assists students with various projects, crafts, and curriculum tasks.
The Paraprofessional also helps very young students with their clothing, snack time routine, and toileting activities; Helps with the supervision of children during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips; Supervises students in cafeteria during meals and sees that students are seated in assigned areas.
Ensures cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas assists in playground supervision.Hampton Academy prides itself on a high level of Service Excellence and it is an expectation for all staff to have this core ability.

Assists with arrival and dismissal of students; Completes clerical duties as assigned by the teacher; Assists students with various projects, crafts, and curriculum tasks.
Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by teacher; Distributes and collects workbooks, papers, and other materials for instruction; Operates and cares for equipment used in classroom for instructional purposes; Helps the teacher to plan and maintain bulletin board and other classroom learning displays; Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students; Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and makeup work, as assigned by the teacher; Performs clerical duties related to the instructional program including attendance reports, collection of money, duplication of materials, and distribution and return of notices home; Helps with the supervision of children during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips; Informs assigned teacher or disciplinarian of any serious infractions of discipline rules by students; Participates in in-service training as directed; Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the administrator or teacher; Performs other tasks asrequested by the Director and/or his/her designee.One of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc.
