AHB Community School (http://www.ahbcs.org), an independent, progressive K-8 school in Austin, TX, is looking for a Teacher’s Assistant to work in our mixed-age grade 4-5 classroom. For the right candidate, there is potential for this position to grow into a full teaching role.

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor?s degree, experience working with children

Preferred: Bachelor?s degree in education or a related field, 3+ years of classroom teaching or related experience, Math specialist, current teacher?s license (or equivalent), experience in progressive education school settings.

Responsibilities:
Reports to: Head of School
Contract, Duty, and Compensation: Hourly position during the school calendar year to begin mid-August: 24-28 hours per week, 4-day week (M-Th); school year Aug-May (35 weeks of paid duty, 6 weeks of unpaid school breaks/holidays during the school year); salary dependent on experience.
